Anything is possible.

Are you ready to BELIEVE in yourself?

Let’s PLAY!

Mapping Your Path:
LET’S PLAY

ACCOUNTABILITY + WORKSHOP + COMMUNITY

3-month experience: June–Aug 2023

MYP: Let’s PLAY is the structure, accountability, and community you need to move the needle forward on the thing that keeps getting pushed aside and sidetracked by life. It’s through the spirit of fun that shortcuts and unexpected pathways may appear. There’s always another way. Moving forward doesn’t always have to be hard. You can also move forward with ease. Allow yourself time for play, imagination, and creative surprises.

LET’S HAVE SOME FUN!

There is way too much going on in the world that’s heavy. It’s time to shake some things up and have some fun. When you take the pressure off and invite in play you will be able to see what strides you make!

While we’re dreaming big, our exploration in play is inspired by the guy who is responsible for developing the navigation system that got us to the moon and back. (He also happens to be my grandfather: Charles Stark “Doc” Draper!). He didn’t make this happen through sheer willpower or working alone. He knew having a good time was a key ingredient to success.

If you’re not having fun, you’re not doing this right. We’ll be using these guiding principles in the next round of Mapping Your Path:

  1. “It should be fun.” (This is my #1 rule in life, which is a mantra I picked up from my grandfather. )

  2. You don't get to the moon and back by playing by pre-existing rules. (It’s time to rewrite that old programming.)

  3. Do the impossible. (You can dream big despite what others think or say.)

  4. Tune into your own internal guidance system. (Trust yourself and your intuition!)

  5. Have a good time while working towards your dreams. (It will help get you there faster and make recovery from the inevitable bumps much easier.)

  6. Be yourself. (You don’t have to do things like others to make big ideas happen.)

  7. Invite in the magic + dance with the universe. (It’s way more fun + you have nothing to lose!)

When we operate by these rules can we truly move the needle forward and ensure we’re making progress on something that lights us up (and likely makes the world a better place too). Learning along the way is all part of the process.

What are you ready to move the needle forward in your own life?

MYP: Let’s PLAY is about getting things done AND enjoying the process. We often can get stuck on the idea that change takes big efforts over large amounts of time, but really the secret is in the small steps over time. Imperfect action is still progress in the right direction.

It’s time to acknowledge the realities of life and all the curveballs it throws you, while giving yourself some credit and believing in yourself enough to keep going. We’re going to celebrate progress because real change and dreams don’t happen overnight.

There’s no need to do all the things, have it all figured out, or be super serious and regimented. Instead, MYP asks you to examine how fun, exploration, and play can be used to get out of your own way—and the constructs of society—to do things in a way that feels truly aligned with yourselves.

Change and disruption doesn’t happen by doing more of the same.

When we allow ourselves to play we can:

  • Unlock our superpowers

  • Make real progress

  • Solve problems

  • Gain new insights + ah ha moments

  • Find our flow

  • Move past shoulds

  • Surprise ourselves

  • Enjoy the ride + laugh along the way

  • Do the work we’re here to do

Play is something that fosters creativity and creative problem-solving, so why is it something that is wired out of us as we get older? And who decided life should be such a grind? That’s no fun! Play leads to an end result that is better and more impactful because of how we approached it.

My grandfather would not have gotten where he did without exploration, experimentation, failures, and learnings along the way. It’s all part of the journey. The spirit of play can get us there smoother and faster. We can start to see possibilities we never would have considered.

I have done many of those so-called workshops and online programs in the past 3 years. Until now, I haven’t had such a beautifully designed program, rich content, powerful exercises, and the wonderful people in the community.

I was blown away and it is truly an aspiration and inspiration. Thank you ever so much for welcoming me into your world! I’ve learned a great deal about myself, more than I had with many of the coaches I have had so far. I’m forever grateful.
— Sophie Frey (Switzerland)

MYP takes me back to basics in a good way and orients me towards an integrated way of thinking about my life. I run my own business supporting social change leaders and have two young kids, and this community has helped me really think through how to best nourish myself amongst it all. I’ve even found time to sit in my travel hammock amongst the trees again.
— May Miller-Dawkins (New Zealand)

When I first joined MYP I had a very different idea in mind of where it would take me. Instead, I received a life changing health diagnosis while enrolled. MYP helped give me a foundation and space for reflection. The community was immensely supportive both in listening, and for tangible guidance in launching a podcast to share my new mission around the gift of help.
— Ashley Usiskin (Amsterdam, The Netherlands)

The Roadmap

There are so many directions this could go. The idea is that you come with an idea or theme to focus on for the three months. Not just any old idea, but one that lights you up and gets you excited. This is your “personal project.”

It doesn’t have to be fully formed. It may even scare you—but in a good way. There’s a good chance it’s something your intuition has been trying to wake you up about for a while now! It’s likely one of those long-game goals, not just instant gratification.

Your idea doesn’t have to be as bold as getting to the moon, but it can be. If there’s a time to dream, it’s now. No need to play small. These three months don’t have to lead to completion. Use the time as a springboard. Go for progress over perfection. Find new paths and shortcuts along the way—that’s where the fun comes in!

Past participants have:

  • Explored what’s next for them
New locations, new roles/jobs, new hobbies

  • Found new clarity on where they’re headed
(Hint: it may not always look like you expect)

  • Made progress on tangible projects
Writing, personal projects, blogs, nesting, and biz ideas

  • Taken naps and pauses
Focused on health and personal needs and boundaries

  • Launched the thing they’ve been wanting to do
Podcasts, companies, exit strategy for toxic jobs, created communities)

  • Done things they never imagined they would do
Hosted workshops, bought homes, signed up for yoga teacher training in India a few weeks before it started, moved across an ocean, filed for citizenship

  • Focused on themselves
Taken a pause from burnout culture, slowed down the pace of life, continued work from previous MYPs

You’ll likely be working on several things in life, but the hope is you can use your MYP time to hone in some “sacred” time to move the needle forward on something you really feel pulled to work on yet rarely make time for.

You also have permission to detour and change course at any point during the three months together. Often we can be guilty of focusing on the wrong thing due to “shoulds” rather than what we truly feel pulled to do. The more action you take, the more clarity you’ll have on the right next step.

THE SUPPORTS:

  • Weekly check-ins + intention setting (or whatever frequency works for you)

  • Direct feedback from Anne (& others) in the community space

  • Celebrating every step of the way (not just the giant leaps)

  • Co-working sessions and a “co-working café” to carve out sacred time to work

  • Small group Connection Calls (with Anne + community members; great for unblocking)

  • Workshop exercises to help support you on your journey

  • Inspiring resource sharing

  • Connection with the MYP community (warm-hearted humans around the world)

WHAT YOU’LL WALK AWAY WITH:

  • Exploratory maps and new creative exercises for your personal toolkit

  • Supportive habits that support you in a way that you work best

  • Accountability for self and through others

  • An incredible support system through community (+ likely some new friends too)

  • Unexpected connections + insights for future you

  • Actual progress on the thing you want to move the needle forward on

Mapping Your Path is alchemy, because it will bring together parts of yourself and others to spark transformation you could never foresee. It’s the most supportive structured community to understand yourself better and make durable, meaningful change to your life.

You don’t have to know what you want to get out of the experience, you just have to know that you’re not where you want to be and you’re not entirely sure why.
— ANNIE YI (WASHINGTON, D.C.)

Thank you for a really, really fun experience that helped me realize the power of community. I’ve never joined a creative community like this before and am now a believer! Being a part of this group has really shifted the way I approach new challenges.
— SHWETA JOHRI SCOTT (LUXEMBOURG)

Meet your guide + Chief Dot Connector!

Anne Ditmeyer is an American in Paris who has never been one to do things the traditional way. From being a member of the men's crew team in college to starting her own business in France (which eventually earned her dual citizenship), Anne has always been guided by "her own special gyroscope" as her mom would say.

Life has taught her the city is her classroom. The mantra of her blog Prêt à Voyager (translation: ready to travel) is "Travel is not about where you go, but how you see the world."

She believes in sharing "alternative narratives" or the stories we don't always hear. A designer by training, creativity and fun is at the heart of all the work she does, including making people map on bananas!

Her workshops have been featured in Forbes and Psychologies Magazine.

I’ve been part of Mapping Your Path since the start. It has helped me reconnect with my creativity in a way I hadn’t imagined before. It also brought fun and magic into my life. Anne brings her magic recipe, her authenticity, creativity, fun and design thinking to guide us along the way. It is magical.

She is on the journey with us, shares and is very much active and responsive in the group. It makes it a special place. I love the spirit of curiosity and exploration in MYP, and being with great people from around the world. Anne has a talent for gathering a great community of people in a unique atmosphere.
— CÉLINE BOURGEOIS (FRANCE)

You’ve got a magical talent: you can gather incredible humans! The MYP community is such a kind, inspiring, resourceful sounding board and your contagious energy paired with your design thinking approach helps one to feel seen whilst gaining clarity and starting building momentum.
— CLAUDIA MANDELLI (BERLIN, GERMANY VIA ITALY)

One small step. One giant leap.

MEET OUR WORKSHOP INSPIRATION + GUIDE.

MEET MY GRANDFATHER.

Meet “Doc” Draper

+ Developed the navigation systems to get us to the moon & back

+ Sought to DO THE IMPOSSIBLE

+ Advocated for himself to be an astronaut to go to the moon (at age 60! — he was serious)

+ Took an unlikely path that all added up with valuable connections along the way

+ Knew how to have FUN (he even won prizes for ballroom dancing!)

We’re not getting Where we’re going WITH THE SAME OLD THINKING.

Charles Stark “Doc” Draper, aka my grandfather, isn’t a household name, but part of me feels like he should be. I was seven when he died. A few years ago, I set myself the challenge to talk to 100 people who knew him in order to learn about his life through the stories of others. It became an unexpected adventure.

The more I learned about him, the more I realized his approach is the type of leadership I seek. He set out to do the impossible, and despite many people telling his goals weren’t possible, his accomplishments proved otherwise. He didn’t know how things would turn out when he accepted the first NASA contract to get us to the moon, but he—and the team he fostered—sure as hell figured it out.

While we often wait for outside forces to tell us what to do, ultimately the biggest drivers are in ourselves. We can be our biggest blocks at times because of this too. Here’s your permission to do the thing.

In addition to being an engineer, my grandfather was also an educator who adored teaching and his students. It was from one of his former students I learned his motto “It should be fun!”

Be open to a path of your own while we look to my grandfather as a model for possibility. Unbeknownst to him, my grandfather (who was born in 1901) will be one of our teachers over the next three months for our monthly workshops:

MONTH 1: Your internal gyroscope + this should be fun!

MONTH 2: Perspective + progress over time

MONTH 3: Planting seeds + playing with the universe

Think of the workshops as a boost to help IGNITE what’s already inside of you!
Each will be succinct and digestible to follow on your own time. And yes, you can look forward to banana maps during our 3 months together!

Sometimes we just need the sheer audacity to do our thing.

During the banana map workshop, these words just came without any thinking: ‘create the community you seek.’ This was such a special activity for me because by the end, that banana had all these insightful drawings and words on it. This was the culmination of the work I had done within Mapping Your Path, all leading me to taking the next step to launch my business that helps people amplify their climate actions.
— Tammy Mayer (France)

When I first joined MYP I was so stuck I didn’t know the first step to take. I’d been so focused on survival than anything strategic. The most eye-opening aspect of MYP was discovering a more visual way of putting strategies together. It’s been so helpful to allow me to think and do things differently.
— Susan Trunk (US / UK / The Netherlands)

The community that you cultivated was so special. It’s incredible that you attracted a group of kind-hearted, supportive individuals from around the world to be a part of the program. Learning that other people were also dealing with the things that I was struggling with and working through them together was what made the program worth it.
— NISHANT BHANSALI (INDIA + USA)

How we gather:

MYP is designed to be a container that allows you to do your magic. It’s designed to be flexible and allows you to pick and choose the elements that work with your life. The goal is not to be the “perfect student” but to make real progress on something meaningful to you.

The hope is that it gives you a way to carve out time for you to think about and work on the things that get pushed aside despite the fact they light you up. There is space to take a pause, not feel behind on one more thing, and allow magic to happen.

the breakdown:

  • We’ll have a kick-off workshop on the first Friday in June to help gear you up for success and make real progress. We’ll make a game plan for the 3-months, and there will be a series of exercises and reflections to help you dive into what you want your focus to be on.

The last Friday in August we’ll have a wrap-up workshop as a way to check-in with yourself and celebrate your progress.

These workshops are hosted live and recordings will be posted within a couple hours. Kick off: Friday, June 2nd at 5pm CET/Paris.

  • Each month there will be a pre-recorded mini-workshop released to the group. (This round they’re inspired by my grandfather getting us to the moon.) These will be ~30 min lessons that explore a theme, an exercise inspired by it, as well as a journal prompt.

There will be time to complete the exercises and reflect during each workshop recording. Watch the workshops on your own time, during co-working sessions, or skip them entirely (some seasons really do require us to be that inner rebel!
You’ll have access to the recordings even after the 3-months is up).

Exercises and themes can be discussed in the community space, or on co-working, or on small group connection calls. There’s no pressure to have done all the workshops to participate in MYP.

  • Throughout the 3 months together there will be “official” co-working sessions twice a month. These sessions are intended for you to work on the “thing” you’re hoping to advance during these three months.

After these 1-hour quiet working sessions there will be the opportunity to stay and chat with Anne and others who can stay on for an informal conversation.

New this round is a 24/7 co-working [Zoom] café where you’re welcome to connect with other MYPers. This is a private Zoom room only open for MYP members. Set a time to connect with a new accountability buddy, post on the community space that you’re going on to work and invite others, or pop in solo as your cue to tell yourself it’s time to work.

  • Throughout our three months together there will be three small group “connection calls” (one per month) that you sign up for a time convenient for you.

Each “connection call” consists of Anne + 5-6 MYPers. It’s a great opportunity to get support on whatever you’re working on. This could mean asking for feedback, talking through a block, or asking how others approach a certain topic.

You don’t need to prepare, just show up. Connection calls are not required, but are always a highlight for MYPers. They’re MAGIC!

  • The community space hosted on Slack is not like other communities online. This is a warm-hearted environment where you’re free to be yourself, share insights and resources, ask questions, and connect. Anne is an active participant in the community space and you can expect direct feedback and engagement from her (there’s no quota—take full advantage!).

Engagement is encouraged (but not required) as you never know what unexpected support or insight you may discover in the process.

There is no pressure to be active, stay up on everything being shared, or respond. Trust that you’ll see what you need to see.

There will also be weekly check-ins where you can set your intention for the week (or the frequency that feels right for you), and also track your progress over time.

Some weeks there may be more progress than others, but over time it all adds up. We’re here to help root each other on, and inspire each other by showing others—and ourselves—what’s possible.

Prompts and exercises will be provided in the community space on an as needed, or requested basis.

Note: For certain parts of the world, MYPers are asleep during the kick-off and wrap-up workshops—that’s why much of it is created to work asynchronously. Every effort will be made to ensure different time zones have the ability to participate in live components as well.

I am so grateful to be a part of MYP, and to have the time to dedicate to all these wonderfully revealing activities! Even though I’m not able to join the workshops live, I’m getting so much out of it! Taking time to watch the replay, and pausing to spend longer on the activities, feels like precious ‘mindfulness’ time for me!
— Michelle Newell (Melbourne, Australia)

Honestly, Mapping Your Path has changed my life.... As someone who is self-employed and enjoys the company of other people, the Slack community and particularly the monthly connection calls were really helpful for keeping me going.
— MONIQUE CALLENDER (PARIS, FRANCE)

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:

  • There’s no one way to go through this experience

  • You don’t have to do it all to get something out of the experience

  • There’s no behind

  • Imperfect action is better than no action

  • You can start anywhere (and before you’re ready)

  • Progress doesn’t always look like we expect

  • Sometimes things have to get messy before it comes together

  • Don’t underestimate the experience you bring and foundation you’ve already laid

  • Small efforts over time all add up

  • Work and fun are not mutually exclusive

  • You don’t have to do it alone

  • You deserve this!

The past few years have been challenging, to say the least. Between juggling chronic illnesses (for myself and family members), playing the role of caregiver, going back to school later in life, and the general state of the world, MYP has been my self-care space where I get to do things for me.

It’s allowed me space to dream about where I want to take my work that bridges my background in film and storytelling, with my growing desire to change the siloed systems of healthcare. I’m making progress and I’ve never been more excited about what I’m doing.

MYP for me is like being able to slow down the Tetris game to a manageable pace that makes everything (even the hard stuff) a little more fun.
— TAMI LYNN ROSS (ATLANTA, GEORGIA)

Can’t be more grateful for what MYP has brought me on my journey. When I joined MYP I had just signed my book deal and did not realize all the challenges that I was about to experience. Being supported by this community helped me a lot along the way, showed me another way of looking at things & looking at what I had already achieved. MYP even got involved in finding the title of my book because at that exact time I was struggling with it, everything fell into place just by listening and being open to receiving help from others. Truly game-changer!
— Caroline Arditti (Paris, France)

FAQ

  • The fall version of MYP “Into the New Year” (Oct–Jan) has a focus on figuring out how we want to finish the current year, and go into the New Year with intention. The main focus is developing a “guiding force” (word/phrase) and creating a map for the year ahead.

The spring version of MYP (Feb–April) has a very similar spirit, and is more about unlocking our best selves and our secret sauce.

The summer (June–Aug) version of MYP is always a “lighter” version of MYP (and lower price point!). There is a large component of accountability with the idea you can make real progress on something you’re working on, with the support of Anne + the community.

MYP is constantly evolving, just as we are as humans. People join MYP during different cycles, and there is no one way/place to start. `

Read more bout the different versions and additional testimonials here.

  • There is a significant percentage of returning MYPers who return for more. Some have been around since the beginning, and others have taken a cycle or two off and come back. There’s no one/right way to do this. Just know you’re always welcome back :)

In the past I’ve run the summer MYP as the Accountability Booster Group. This is the first time I’ll be teaching this particular set of workshops. It will also be the first time there’s a 24/7 Zoom room “co-working café” people can join for added connection and accountability.

Many people come back for new MYP cohorts to take advantage of the community and meet new people. (There are people who have joined MYP for all 8 cohorts if that says anything!).

  • YES! YES! YES!

The workshops are just one component of the MYP experience, which is designed to be flexible and work for real/busy lives.

In this round of MYP only the kick-off + wrap-up workshops will be live, as well as the co-working sessions.

The monthly workshops will be pre-recorded to watch on your own time (or during co-working sessions).

The kick-off/wrap-up and co-working sessions will recorded so you can watch on your own time.

Many people enjoy having the simulated experience of joining the co-working sessions when watching the replay. It makes them feel like they’re there. Others prefer to block off time on their calendar to work alone.

Even with participants spread throughout the globe, the Slack community is a great way to connect with other community members asynchronously.

We’ve had multiple people join from Australia and Asia in the past and even though they couldn’t join the live calls, every month I made sure there was a time she could meet others during the “connection calls” (mini groups with 5-6 other MYPers).

Sometimes people have work or other commitments that keep them from joining live workshops, but the same response as above applies. There are different elements that make up MYP, and different components are going to resonate with people differently. The goal is that you can find a way that makes it work for you.

  • The MYP community is truly AWESOME!!! No one is required to participate, but those who do absolutely love it. It’s not like other communities online. This one is special, supportive, and magical.

I choose to use Slack for the community because it keeps the vibe fun, casual, and conversation (and us off of Facebook). Some people who have used Slack for work or other uses have said the way I use Slack is not like any other experience they’ve had before (that’s a good thing!).

If you’ve never used Slack before, don’t worry, I’ll be onboarding everyone and sending a short how-to video. Like many things in life, oftentimes the best way to approach things is to learn by doing.

You can download the app or open it in a browser tab. It’s up to you if you keep alerts. (I’ll send you email reminders for key things).

Many people use Slack at work already, so I realize that checking Slack can get overwhelming. Heads up that you do not have to read all of the messages posted, or respond to anything. But you can expect a response from me (Anne). I’m happy to share resources, give feedback, support however I can.

My basic rule is that you need to share it on a public channel and I’ll be more than happy to respond and exchange with you (you may get some awesome other feedback too!).

Some MYPers never log onto Slack and still get a ton out of the experience. People have different needs in different seasons of their life. I encourage/nudge people to engage and share to help you get out of your way. It’s up to you to decide what feels right for you.

New members are welcome and encouraged to dive right in. For others, they may hang back and observe/listen their first time through MYP. It’s a friendly, supportive place, and a truly safe space. No one will bite :)

  • I never want anyone to feel like they are beyond their financial means to join this group. The summer round of MYP is the lowest price point of the three offers, and a payment plan is available.

I want to encourage you to think about how you can look at MYP as an INVESTMENT in yourself. The first time I invested in a coach it was terrifying and felt like a lot of money. It turns out it was the step I needed to start taking my business more seriously. It was the nudge, jolt, and support I needed at that time.

Many coaching programs of this caliber cost thousands of dollars with less access to the leader. However, I do encourage you to look to see if there is anywhere in your life you can save money (do you really need all those subscriptions?), and see if you can find a way to make it work.

I can assure you I’ve witnessed so many transformations from people who join the group even though it feels daunting. The ultimate goal through MYP is that you will make shifts in your life through MYP that will set you up for future success.

The other perk is that once you sign up for MYP you get discounts to other offers including a deep discount to future MYP cohorts.

I offer the 3-month payment plan to help make it more accessible to join. If you’d like to discuss an extended payment plan, please reach out to me directly.

  • I fully believe in the power of the collective.

Sometimes MYPers decide they would like additional support and guidance through working together 1:1. Priority for 1:1 coaching is given to those who have participated in MYP.

Reach out to me directly to see if I’m accepting new clients.

  • I fully expect people to have other things going on, that’s why I designed MYP the way I did—the essentials.

The kick-off and wrap-up workshops will be 1.5 hours, co-working calls are 1 hour, small group connection calls are 1 hour. There’s no pressure to join everything.

Time invested in the Slack community should be whatever feels right for you. You don’t need to feel guilty if you can’t check it all the time or read every message. In fact, I like to encourage people to practice not keeping up with everything!

We all tend to tell ourselves stories about how we need to “make the most of my investment” or, “I need to get my money’s worth.” Insights and learnings can happen in many different forms.

If you’re in a slow period of life you may find yourself dipping into the community daily. If you have a full schedule and would like to participate in the community, I recommend scheduling time every week on your calendar so you can check-in.

You don’t have to be the perfect student or top of the class to get a ton out of the experience. It’s a great time/place/space to experiment!

Often times you may open the Slack community and see a post or resource that is just what you needed to see that day (you take it from there and run). Other times posts may not resonate with you, which is fine—take what works for you, and ignore the rest. YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT ALL!

Still have questions?

I’m here to help! Shoot me an email at hello@anneditmeyer.com or send me DM on social media (I’m slower to respond there).

I’m happy to answer any questions you may have, or help you decide if this is the right fit for you right now. Seriously, don’t be shy. I promise I won’t bite :)
