2022... The Year of the Magic within You
Every year I come up with a word or theme to guide my year. Thanks to Mapping Your Path, I now have dubbed it my “guiding force” and it’s something we spend 3-months working towards and mapping in the fall edition of MYP. The final result is that the guiding force becomes a map!
This year I landed on “The Magic within You” to carry me into and through the year. In 2021 I discovered how much spiritual work helped support me in life and business (see reflection + books I read). The more I learned to trust, and the less I tried to control, the more magic happened. Learning from past experiences made me want to be more intentional in carrying that forward with me into 2022.
The magic within you means to me:
Listening inwardly rather than adhering to societal programming or what others think
Getting quiet
Trusting self
Following the crazy ideas even if no one else understands
Writing your own rules and living by them
Mapping your own path
Co-creating with the universe
Believing there are better possibilities than the ones we have considered
Trust I’ll know what’s next when I get there
How I want to feel:
At peace
In flow
Supported
Connected
Joyful
Amused
Amazed
Alive
Vibrant
Excited
Challenged (in a good way)
Awe and wonder
Proud
An incomplete list of what I want out of 2022:
Write the book(s) I’ve been sitting on
Continue to grow and dig deep with the MYP community
Collaborate with people who have inspired my own work
More collaborations and projects in London
Run workshops/retreats/experiences in other cities
Continue to bring banana maps to others to unlock magic! Get banana maps in front of unexpected eyes.
Continued financial growth (without hustle—there is another way!)
Developing my cooking skills and comfort in the kitchen (have already come so far!)
Next level with relationships
Guide people and lead the way that there are other ways of doing things
Surprise myself along the way
There’s always a lot of detail so here’s a closer look. I drew it on A4 paper, and then printed it half size at A5. The official card was Riso printed (how I got gold ink on blue paper—a happy unexpected surprise) by Studio Fidèle in Paris. The rubber stamp of the heart is Tampographe Sardon (one of my favorite shops in Paris, only open on Saturdays); I also used it to stamp the back of every envelope. I also made my own postage stamps through the La Poste website. I see hearts every day on my walks, so I used two of my photos (one for France mail, and one for international). It was a fun touch.
This year I sent out nearly 200 notes of gratitude to clients, collaborators, and people who have made a difference in my year. It’s always something that takes longer than I think, but taking the time to appreciate my year and share that joy with others helps send the right energy into the New Year.
